Essence

People with well-treated hypothyroidism lost about as much weight on liraglutide as matched patients without thyroid disease.

Evidence

This retrospective case-control study compared 53 adults on stable levothyroxine with 145 matched controls and found similar 10-month weight loss, body-composition change, and rates of achieving at least 5% weight loss.

Caveat

Because the study was retrospective and nonrandomized, it can show comparable outcomes between groups but not rule out residual confounding or selection bias.
