Abstract
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) affects approximately one-third of adults worldwide.
- MASLD is increasingly recognized as a disorder that impacts multiple systems in the body.
- Patients with MASLD often experience fatigue, depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and cognitive complaints.
- The clinical symptoms reported by patients do not consistently correlate with liver tissue damage.
- Several mechanisms may interact to contribute to the symptoms experienced by those with MASLD.
