Long COVID symptoms linked to loneliness in World Trade Center Health Registry participants

Among World Trade Center Health Registry enrollees with COVID-19, long COVID symptoms were linked to higher loneliness prevalence.

Evidence

A self-administered survey analysis of 5,692 WTCHR enrollees with acute COVID-19 in 2022-23 used adjusted modified Poisson models to compare loneliness by self-reported long COVID symptoms.

Caveat

The cross-sectional, self-reported design can show association but not whether long COVID symptoms caused loneliness.
