Changes in DNA markers over 2 years and their impact on research methods

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Epigenetic clock measures were mostly stable and highly predictable over 2 years in generally healthy older adults.

Evidence

This longitudinal cohort analysis measured DNA methylation clocks at baseline, year 1, and year 2 in 899 COSMOS-Blood participants with mean age 70.0 and 50% women.

Caveat

The measures showed limited short-term change sensitivity, with numerically small PC-clock increases and no significant DunedinPACE change over 2 years.
