Abstract

Essence

Lysionotin reduced bleomycin-related lung fibrosis signals by limiting myofibroblast differentiation and through AMPK/Nrf2 activation.

Evidence

This was a preclinical study using a bleomycin-induced mouse model and TGF-β-induced myofibroblasts in vitro, with lysionotin given intraperitoneally on days 15-28.

Caveat

The evidence is limited to animal and cell models, so it does not show clinical benefit or safety in people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
