Players covered an average distance of 1,556.2 ± 189.3 m per game during Rugby Sevens matches.

  • 29.7% of the total distance was spent standing and walking, while 33.2% was spent jogging.
  • Players engaged in high-intensity running for 3.7% of the distance and sprinted for 5.4%.
  • The average maximal distance of sprints was 25.8 ± 16.1 m, with players completing an average of 5.3 ± 3.2 sprints per game.
  • The work-to-rest ratio for players was 1:0.4, indicating a significant amount of rest relative to work.
  • For over 75% of the game, players' heart rates exceeded 80% of their maximal heart rate.
