Understanding Patient Needs at US Post-COVID Care Clinics

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Adults seen at three U.S. post-COVID clinics had medically complex long-COVID symptoms and high follow-up care needs.

Evidence

A multisite retrospective chart review of 984 adults attending post-COVID clinics found frequent dyspnea, post-exertional malaise, fatigue, and brain fog, with 3914 follow-up visits and common referrals to subspecialty and rehabilitation care.

Caveat

This descriptive review covered patients already referred to specialty post-COVID clinics between 2020 and 2021, so it may not represent all people with long COVID or establish causes of healthcare use.
