Low-strength magnetic therapy for thinking problems in long COVID: a small randomized study

Updated

Abstract

Thirty participants completed a randomized controlled trial of at-home Microtesla Magnetic Therapy (MMT) for cognitive impairment from long COVID.

  • Feasibility was high, with 100% adherence to treatments among those who completed the study.
  • No device-related adverse events were reported during the trial.
  • Active MMT participants showed significant improvement in cognitive assessments compared to sham treatment at Week 8.
  • Emotional well-being improved significantly more in the active MMT group at Week 8.
  • Both groups experienced reductions in depression and anxiety, with a greater anxiety reduction associated with active treatment.
