Participants experienced a significant decrease in PTSD symptoms, with total scores on the PTSD Checklist-Military decreasing after 6 weeks of yoga intervention.

  • Eighteen post-9/11 veterans completed the yoga intervention and assessments.
  • PTSD symptoms decreased across all three clusters measured: hyperarousal, re-experiencing, and avoidance.
  • Mindfulness scores improved among participants after the intervention.
  • Participants reported reductions in insomnia, depression, and anxiety symptoms.
  • The yoga sessions were tailored to military culture and taught by a fellow veteran.
