Morning sprint training leads to better physical improvements than evening training in soccer players

Morning (SIT) led to greater improvements in performance metrics among collegiate soccer players.

  • Both morning and evening SIT groups showed significant enhancements in physical and physiological performance after 7 weeks.
  • Improvements were measured using physical tests such as the vertical jump, 20-m sprint, and Yo-Yo intermittent recovery test.
  • The morning SIT group had greater adaptive changes compared to the evening group in jump height, sprint speed, and power outputs.
  • Statistical significance was noted for the differences in performance between the morning and evening training sessions (p < 0.05).
  • Scheduling SIT in the morning may optimize physical performance adaptations for soccer athletes.
