mRNA vaccine with several virus proteins provides strong protection against NADC30-like pig reproductive and respiratory virus strains

Updated

Abstract

Immunization with GP345m-LNP reduced PRRSV viremia and lung damage in piglets following challenge.

  • Four multi-antigen mRNA vaccine candidates were developed targeting specific glycoproteins from NADC30-like PRRSV.
  • The mRNA vaccine candidates showed abundant protein expression and efficient antigen secretion in laboratory tests.
  • Immunization with GP345m-LNP increased specific IgG levels and stimulated various immune responses in mice.
  • Vaccination of piglets with GP345m-LNP significantly enhanced IFN-γ production compared to a commercial vaccine.
  • After exposure to the virus, GP345m-LNP vaccination effectively decreased viral loads and mitigated lung damage.
