Myogenic exosomes carrying miR-140-5p inhibitors significantly enhance satellite cell proliferation.

  • Myogenic exosomes can activate satellite cells, which are crucial for muscle repair.
  • Expression of miR-140-5p is significantly reduced during the repair of skeletal muscle injuries in mice.
  • The addition of myogenic exosomes leads to an increase in cell cycle progression from G1 to S phase.
  • Treatment with myogenic exosomes results in a substantial increase in muscle growth-related gene expression in the gastrocnemius muscle.
  • Activation of satellite cells by myogenic exosomes may promote the formation of new skeletal muscle cells.
