The psychedelic 25C-NBF acts on specific brain receptors to quickly promote brain plasticity and antidepressant effects in male rodents

Updated

Abstract

Essence

25C-NBF showed psychoplastogenic and rapid antidepressant-like effects in male rodent models without abuse-related signals in the tested assays.

Evidence

This preclinical pharmacology study tested 25C-NBF, 25B-NBF, and 25I-NBF in receptor, cell, mouse, and rat assays, with deeper in vitro and in vivo characterization of 25C-NBF.

Caveat

The evidence is limited to cells and male rodents, so human antidepressant efficacy, safety, dosing, and psychedelic tolerability remain untested.
