MCC950 treatment in aging stroke mice reduced the infarction area and improved neurobehavioral outcomes.

  • Inhibition of the NLRP3 inflammasome may attenuate inflammatory changes in aged mice following stroke.
  • Treatment with MCC950 is associated with reduced blood-brain barrier impairment in stroke-affected mice.
  • Short-term and long-term MCC950 administration resulted in improved functional outcomes in neurobehavioral tests.
  • Inflammatory markers such as IL-1β and IL-18 showed altered expression following MCC950 treatment.
  • Histopathological analysis indicated less neuronal damage and white matter loss in treated mice.
