Oligo fucoidan reduces muscle loss and weakness in aging-prone mice

Abstract

OliFuco significantly increased muscle mass and strength in sarcopenic mice, particularly in the preventive model.

  • OliFuco delayed cellular aging and enhanced muscle cell formation in lab studies.
  • In a mouse model of sarcopenia, OliFuco improved muscle mass and myofiber size.
  • The intervention promoted muscle protein synthesis while inhibiting breakdown.
  • OliFuco reduced levels of inflammatory proteins associated with aging.
  • It outperformed branched-chain amino acids in improving muscle health in mice.
