Abstract
Of 30 participants, 23 were using a GLP-1 receptor agonist at the time of the interview.
- Participants reported a reduction in food-related thoughts and appetite while using GLP-1 receptor agonists.
- Many indicated that GLP-1 receptor agonists alone are not sufficient for weight loss.
- A wide range of adverse effects was experienced by participants, with some willing to endure significant challenges for weight loss.
- Stigma was perceived by patients based on the primary reason for their GLP-1 RA prescription.
- The provision of information and clinical support was found to be inconsistent among participants.
- Challenges related to access and cost were identified as significant barriers to treatment.
- Participants valued shared experiences, highlighting the importance of community support.
