C15OXA treatment reduced anxiety-like behavior in obese mice without affecting body weight.

  • C15OXA significantly decreased anxiety-like behavior in mice fed a high-fat diet.
  • No changes were observed in body weight, fat mass, or glucose tolerance due to C15OXA treatment.
  • C15OXA attenuated neuroinflammation in the hippocampus by reducing markers such as COX-2 and IL-1β.
  • The treatment restored tight junction gene expression, indicating improved blood-brain barrier integrity.
  • C15OXA enhanced neurogenesis and synaptic plasticity markers in the central nervous system.
  • At the peripheral level, C15OXA reduced colonic inflammation and improved gut barrier integrity while reshaping gut microbiota composition.
