Light from 808 nm and 915 nm lasers may affect growth and bone-building of cheek fat stem cells
Updated
Abstract
PBM significantly enhanced cell proliferation, particularly at 4 J/cm² with the 808 nm laser and at 4 and 6 J/cm² with the 915 nm laser.
- Buccal fat pad-derived stem cells showed increased proliferation in response to photobiomodulation therapy.
- The expression levels of osteocalcin and osteopontin were upregulated in most groups treated with laser irradiation.
- RUNX2 expression was elevated across all PBM-treated groups.
- Alizarin red staining and alkaline phosphatase activity confirmed the stimulatory effects of PBM on osteogenic differentiation.
