Abstract

PIP4K2A expression was found to be elevated in patients with acute ischemic stroke.

  • Increased PIP4K2A mRNA levels were observed in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
  • Higher expression of PIP4K2A is associated with lower NIHSS scores, indicating better neurological outcomes.
  • Ischemia/reperfusion injury significantly upregulates PIP4K2A in both ischemic brain tissue and primary neurons.
  • Overexpression of PIP4K2A in vivo reduces brain injury, preserves neuronal survival, and improves cognitive and motor functions.
  • PIP4K2A overexpression enhances autophagic flux and reduces the accumulation of stress-related proteins.
