Abstract

Polygonatum Rhizoma polysaccharide (PRP) significantly extended the lifespan of C. elegans models.

  • PRP reduced the accumulation of lipofuscin, a marker of aging.
  • The treatment increased resistance to oxidative stress in C. elegans.
  • PRP decreased the aggregation of Aβ protein in Alzheimer's disease models.
  • Gene expression analysis indicated PRP affected genes related to stress response, aging, autophagy, and mitochondrial function.
  • Metabolomic findings suggested PRP improved metabolic disorders by regulating specific metabolic pathways.
