Updated

Abstract

Essence

U.S. primary care patients coded for Post-COVID-19 Condition were clinically complex and used care frequently, with signs of diagnosis gaps in rural or more deprived groups.

Evidence

This EHR cohort study used the American Family Cohort to identify 10,265 U.S. primary care patients with ICD-10-CM U09.9 from October 1, 2021 to June 1, 2023 and compare conditions and utilization across three time periods.

Caveat

Because inclusion required a documented U09.9 code, uncoded Long COVID and population prevalence were outside the study scope.
