Abstract
An LP.8.1-adapted BNT162b2 vaccine elicited higher serum neutralizing antibody responses against the dominant XFG lineage of SARS-CoV-2.
- SARS-CoV-2 has evolved into antigenically distinct lineages, impacting host immunity.
- The JN.1 lineage derivatives have become prevalent globally.
- In preclinical models, the LP.8.1-adapted vaccine was more effective than JN.1 and KP.2 vaccines in generating neutralizing antibodies.
- This enhanced response was specifically noted against the XFG sublineage, which is currently dominant.
- Results indicate a potential preference for the LP.8.1-adapted vaccine in future COVID-19 vaccine formulations.
