Abstract
Disrupting PRR5, PRR7, and PRR9 results in germinating seeds being substantially less sensitive to combined auxin and abscisic acid treatment.
- The circadian clock proteins PRR5, PRR7, and PRR9 are important for enhancing the response to abscisic acid (ABA) in the presence of auxin.
- Overexpression of PRR5 can partially reverse the reduced sensitivity to ABA in auxin signaling-defective mutants.
- PRR5, PRR7, and PRR9 interact with auxin-dependent transcription factors ARF10 and ARF16.
- These proteins work together to facilitate the effects of auxin on ABA signaling.
- PRR5 and ARF16 enhance the activity of ABI5, a key regulator in the ABA signaling pathway.
- Coordination between PRR proteins and ARF10/ARF16 is essential for integrating circadian rhythms, auxin, and ABA signaling.
