Abstract
Cumulative quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) loss from nonfatal COVID-19 outcomes is evaluated in the United States.
- The study assesses the impact of both fatal and nonfatal COVID-19 outcomes on quality of life.
- Prolonged hospitalizations and long COVID are included in the evaluation of health outcomes.
- Findings show that the quality-of-life burden from COVID-19 may be significant when compared to other diseases.
- The extent of the impact on QALY loss remains poorly understood and requires further investigation.
