Abstract

Essence

An under-mattress digital sleep biomarker identified asymptomatic adults with advanced tau pathology about as well as plasma pTau217, but performed less well for earlier Alzheimer-related stages.

Evidence

A leave-one-out predictive modeling study in the Insight 46 cohort used 63,720 nights of remote sleep data from 161 adults with tau PET and 153 with amyloid PET.

Caveat

This is proof-of-concept work in a single late-70s birth cohort, and the models were weaker for earlier pathology and still need refinement and replication.
