A versatile wound dressing with resveratrol that may improve healing in diabetic wounds

Abstract

The ILs/GelMA@Res hydrogel promoted accelerated wound closure and enhanced neovascularization in a diabetic wound mice model.

  • The hydrogel demonstrated strong antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
  • Sustained release of resveratrol from the hydrogel is linked to increased angiogenesis.
  • Activation of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathways associated with VEGF and FGF was observed.
  • Enhanced endothelial cell proliferation, migration, and tube formation were noted in vitro.
  • The hydrogel system exhibited desirable mechanical properties and biocompatibility.
