Resveratrol (RES) has been associated with improvements in cognitive performance and reduction of neuroinflammatory markers in preclinical models of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.

  • RES can modulate biological pathways linked to neurodegeneration, such as oxidative stress and inflammatory signaling.
  • It may influence key molecular mediators involved in neuronal damage, including pro-inflammatory cytokines and nitric oxide signaling.
  • In models of multiple sclerosis and cerebral ischemia, RES might modulate immune responses and reduce oxidative damage.
  • Current evidence primarily comes from animal studies, with limited clinical data available.
  • Challenges such as low bioavailability and variability in dosing regimens could affect the clinical application of RES.
