RNA Folding Rules Including the Modified Base 1-Methyl-Pseudouridine

Updated

Abstract

Essence

New RNA folding parameters suggest 1-methyl-pseudouridine usually stabilizes RNA folding in a sequence-dependent way.

Evidence

This biophysical parameter-development study derived nearest-neighbor terms from 208 optical melting experiments and tested them against 16 additional optical melting experiments, improving tRNA folding ensemble estimates.

Caveat

The work estimates secondary-structure energetics from melting experiments and modeling, not full cellular behavior of modified RNAs or mRNA therapeutics.
