Safety and Immune Response to the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine in People 2 Years and Older with Weakened Immunity

Updated

Abstract

Out of 124 participants, 119 received Dose 3 and 90 received Dose 4 of the BNT162b2 vaccine.

  • Neutralizing geometric mean titers (GMTs) against the ancestral SARS-CoV-2 strain were significantly higher after Dose 4 compared to Dose 3, ranging from 1474.0 to 4157.9 at 1 month after Dose 4.
  • Seroresponse rates varied, with 50.0 to 92.9% of participants achieving seroresponse at 1 month after Dose 3, and 75.0 to 100% at 1 month after Dose 4.
  • Among participants with prior SARS-CoV-2 infection, GMTs after Dose 4 reached as high as 13,457.1.
  • No new safety signals were identified, indicating a favorable risk-benefit profile for the BNT162b2 vaccine in immunocompromised individuals aged 2 years and older.
