SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine immune response over time in inflammatory bowel disease patients, linked to anti-TNF treatment and age

Updated

Abstract

Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) on immunomodulatory therapy may have diminished responses to SARS-CoV-2 vaccination.

  • Humoral responses to the vaccine could be lower in patients with IBD receiving immunomodulatory therapy.
  • Cellular responses to vaccination may also be affected in this patient population.
  • The study monitored vaccine responses over a period of 12 months.
