Evidence

This 12-week treatment study followed 15 patients with fecal 16S rRNA sequencing, metabolomics, and clinical measures before and after semaglutide.

Caveat

The study was small and before-after in design, so microbiome mediation of semaglutide benefits remains suggestive rather than proven.
