Updated

Abstract

Daily total and bolus insulin, along with carbohydrate input, were significantly reduced by day 7 in adults with type 1 diabetes on insulin pump therapy using semaglutide.

  • A significant reduction in bolus insulin and carbohydrate intake was observed by day 7, with effects lasting through the study.
  • Basal insulin requirements were significantly reduced by day 32.
  • By day 77, carbohydrate ratios increased by a median of 4.1% and correction factors increased by 11.2%.
  • Pre-programmed basal rates decreased by a median of 7.9% by day 77.
  • The median time spent in hypoglycemia rarely exceeded 4% during the follow-up period.
