The sleep intervention condition was associated with significantly greater improvements in sleep onset latency and sleep efficiency.

  • Participants showed medium to large effect sizes in sleep and anxiety improvements.
  • Improvements in perceived sleep quality were mediated by reductions in presleep hyperarousal.
  • No specific relationship was found between measured sleep onset latency and sleep hygiene awareness.
  • The findings suggest that addressing presleep arousal may be a target for treating adolescent sleep problems.
