19.9% of shift workers were categorized as having shift work disorder (SWD).

  • 17.1% of shift workers reported experiencing insomnia symptoms.
  • 20.9% of participants tested positive for daytime sleepiness.
  • A history of mental disorders is associated with a higher likelihood of developing SWD.
  • Chronic physical illness also increases the risk of SWD onset.
  • Higher scores on depression and anxiety scales are linked to greater odds of SWD.
  • Individuals with a tendency towards morningness may have a decreased risk of developing SWD.
