Sleep Brainwave Patterns Measured in Long COVID Patients

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Long COVID was associated with altered sleep EEG microstructures that partly overlapped with, but differed from, ME/CFS.

Evidence

This facility-measured PSG analysis compared 28 long-COVID participants, 28 age-sex-matched healthy controls, and 19 ME/CFS participants across sleep EEG microstructure measures.

Caveat

The small observational cohorts, drawn from single centers, cannot show whether EEG differences cause unrefreshing sleep or fatigue.
