Abstract

Teacher-rated daytime sleepiness was associated with higher levels of emotional (β = 0.39) and behavioral problems (β = 0.47) in children with ADHD.

  • Daytime sleepiness may serve as an indicator of sleep quality in children with ADHD.
  • Parent-rated sleep problems did not show an association with daytime sleepiness or school functioning.
  • The Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire subscale was correlated with teacher-rated daytime sleepiness (= 0.21).
  • Total sleep duration did not correlate with daytime sleepiness or school functioning outcomes.
