How Stress and Diet Are Linked to Gut Bacteria

Updated

Abstract

Essence

Gut-health awareness in this small survey coexisted with low probiotic and fiber intake, limited activity, short sleep, and stress-linked digestive complaints.

Evidence

A cross-sectional questionnaire study of 51 participants measured meal patterns, processed-food intake, fiber and probiotic use, digestive symptoms, stress perceptions, exercise, sleep, and gut-brain-axis awareness.

Caveat

The study used a small self-reported sample with no direct microbiota measurement, so it cannot show that diet or stress changed or mental health.
