Brain Connection and Energy Use That May Support Thinking Skills in People Without Symptoms of Alzheimer's in Two Groups

Updated

Abstract

RNA sequencing analysis identified ten candidate biomarker genes associated with Asymptomatic Alzheimer's Disease.

  • Asymptomatic Alzheimer's Disease (AsymAD) is characterized by the presence of amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles in cognitively normal individuals.
  • Individuals were classified into AsymAD and Alzheimer's Disease (AD) groups based on clinical and neuropathological criteria.
  • Differentially expressed genes (DEGs), transcripts (DETs), and used transcripts (DUTs) were identified between AD and AsymAD samples.
  • Functional enrichment analysis revealed subnetworks related to AsymAD within a human protein-protein interaction network.
  • The inclusion of DETs and DUTs in the analysis provided new insights into the molecular mechanisms of AsymAD.
