Identification of SDC4 as a potential target for obesity via integrated analysis of the lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA network in visceral adipose tissue.
Targeting SDC4: A New Approach to Treat Obesity
AI simplified
Abstract
Obesity is a serious health problem worldwide. This study looked at the roles of specific RNA molecules in fat tissue to understand how obesity works at a molecular level. We compared tissue samples from obese and normal individuals and found significant differences in the levels of various RNA molecules. Our analysis pointed to key genes, including SDC4, which was found to be higher in obese individuals. SDC4 levels also correlated with body weight and fat levels. These results suggest that SDC4 could be an important target for obesity treatment.
