How Long-Term Exposure to TDCIPP May Worsen Thinking Problems in Alzheimer's Model Mice: Insights from Multi-Omics Analysis

Updated

Abstract

TDCIPP exposure led to cognitive impairment in 3×Tg-AD mice.

  • Cognitive impairment in 3×Tg-AD mice is associated with disruptions in the hippocampal mitochondrial autophagy pathway.
  • TDCIPP may interfere with the PINK1/Parkin-mediated process for clearing damaged mitochondria without changing the amount of PINK1 protein.
  • Urine analysis showed that TDCIPP exposure resulted in 58 metabolites being upregulated and 11 downregulated.
  • Significant changes in gut microbiome composition were observed after TDCIPP exposure.
  • Correlations were found between altered bacterial genera and the different metabolites identified.
