LiH-LNPs alleviated inflammatory infiltration and demyelination in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE).
- The mRNA-lipid nanoparticle vaccine encodes a fusion of epitopes from three myelin antigens associated with multiple sclerosis.
- LiH-LNPs reduced the number and activity of inflammatory myeloid cells and activated microglia in the spinal cord.
- The treatment induced apoptosis of encephalitogenic T cells while increasing the abundance and activity of regulatory T (Treg) cells.
- These changes suggest a shift in the spinal cord microenvironment towards inflammation resolution.
