Abstract

TPLR induces the differentiation of activated hepatic stellate cells into inactivated hepatic stellate cells.

  • TPLR significantly decreases the protein expression of α-SMA and Desmin in activated hepatic stellate cells.
  • The AGE/RAGE signaling pathway is crucial for the morphological transformation of hepatic stellate cells following TPLR treatment.
  • In vitro experiments suggest that TPLR's mechanism of action involves the RAGE/RAS/MAPK/NF-κB axis.
  • In a liver fibrosis mouse model, TPLR inhibits the generation of advanced glycation end products and alleviates liver tissue damage.
  • Downregulation of RAGE and its downstream targets is associated with the antifibrotic effects of TPLR.
