Abstract

Tucidinostat (TUC) significantly inhibited cellular senescence and alleviated colitis-related symptoms in a DSS-induced ulcerative colitis model.

  • TUC was identified as having anti-senescence properties through a drug screening system.
  • In both in vitro and in vivo models, TUC reduced body weight loss and colon length shortening associated with colitis.
  • Levels of inflammatory cytokines and senescence-associated markers were significantly decreased with TUC treatment.
  • TUC's effects are linked to modulation of the p53 signaling pathway and regulation of cell cycle progression.
  • TUC promoted the proliferation of beneficial gut bacteria and increased beneficial metabolite levels.
