VaxLab: a combined system for quickly designing mRNA vaccines using multiple approaches

Updated

Abstract

Essence

VaxLab is an open-source platform for rapidly designing and comparing mRNA vaccine sequences with multiple optimization strategies.

Evidence

This platform-development study tested influenza hemagglutinin designs in HCT116 cells and found up to 9.5-fold expression differences, with most optimized variants at least 2.9-fold above wild type.

Caveat

The validation was limited to an in vitro influenza workflow in one cell line, so it does not establish vaccine performance in animals or humans.
