Using special lipid nanoparticles to deliver VEGFA mRNA and improve wound healing

Abstract

The VEGFA mRNA-LNP treatment reduced wound size to an average of 1.56 mm compared to 18.66 mm in the control group after 9 days.

  • VEGFA mRNA was synthesized and encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles for delivery.
  • The lipid nanoparticles showed a regular spherical shape with an average size of 112.67 nm.
  • The delivery system demonstrated high efficiency in delivering the VEGFA protein to human endothelial cells.
  • Treatment with VEGFA mRNA-LNP enhanced angiogenesis, cell proliferation, and cell migration.
  • Histological analysis revealed improved tissue epithelialization, collagen deposition, and increased vascular density post-treatment.
