The patient lost 22.2 kg (49 lbs) over 11 months while on liraglutide treatment.

  • A young man with Smith-Magenis syndrome experienced excessive hunger and rapid weight gain over five years.
  • Despite portion control and behavior modifications, the patient's weight continued to increase, raising concerns about metabolic disease.
  • The treatment with liraglutide was well tolerated, showing no severe gastrointestinal side effects.
  • Weight loss was achieved alongside lifestyle and behavioral changes.
