Abstract
The two-day 6-minute incremental step test (6MIST) with wireless wearable sensors may provide a more accessible alternative to the two-day cardiopulmonary exercise test for assessing Post-Exertional Malaise (PEM).
- Post-Exertional Malaise (PEM) is a key symptom of post COVID-19 condition affecting millions.
- Assessment of PEM currently relies on the two-day cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET), which is costly and burdensome for patients.
- The two-day 6MIST could potentially reduce the barriers associated with PEM assessment.
- Wireless wearable sensors may enhance the feasibility of using the 6MIST for monitoring PEM.
