Short- and longer-term brain and behavior responses to LSD in healthy people

Updated

Abstract

Offline motor learning improved significantly the day after 100 µg LSD administration compared to placebo.

  • One week after LSD dosing, perceived stress was reduced and cognitive flexibility was enhanced.
  • LSD led to acute decreases in the amplitudes of auditory event-related potentials (N1 and P2) and continued to modulate P2 one week later.
  • Motor-evoked potentials demonstrated increased amplitude and faster latency under LSD.
  • No changes in peripheral levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) were observed.
