How Two Ways of Transplanting Fat-Derived Stem Cells Differ in Improving Hearing in Aging Rats

Updated

Abstract

Rats receiving adipose-derived stem cell injections into the auditory cortex showed a significantly lower hearing threshold compared to those in the control group.

  • Adipose-derived stem cell injections into the auditory cortex improved hearing recovery in aging rats.
  • Rats injected intravenously with stem cells did not show significant improvement in hearing.
  • Increased numbers of GABAergic neurons were observed in the auditory cortex of rats receiving direct injections.
  • There was a slight reduction in overall cell death and a significant decrease in the death of GABAergic neurons in the auditory cortex injection group.
