Changes in Antibody Levels Over 6 Months After Covishield Vaccination

Updated

Abstract

Antibody levels in healthcare workers decreased significantly, with median IgG levels dropping from 8511 U/mL one month after the first vaccine dose to 978 U/mL six months after the second dose.

  • Antibody testing was conducted on 43 healthcare workers who received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose.
  • Median IgG levels were 8511 U/mL one month after the first dose, 1471 U/mL three months after the second dose, and 978 U/mL six months after the second dose.
  • Among 56 healthcare workers who received both vaccine doses, median IgG levels were 2377.5 U/mL at 20 days, 1345.5 U/mL at 3.8 months, and 1257 U/mL at 7 months post-second dose.
  • A weak correlation was noted between IgG levels and age, but this was not statistically significant.
  • Overall, there is a waning of antibody titer over time post-immunization.
